Mel Kenny

Mel Kenny, Chartered Financial Planner

An experienced planner, Mel has a background in economics including a BA (Hons) in Economics, an MSc in Business Economics which included a stint at the Norwegian School of Economics. In particular, Mel’s interest in meeting the needs of older people led to him being awarded the Later Life Adviser Accreditation by the Society of Later Life Advisers (SOLLA). He is also a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society which is the highest qualification awarded by the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) and a further indication of Mel’s commitment to professional development. As the company spokesperson, Mel is often asked for comment by the national press on financial matters.

Whether it’s finding out how much money we will need just to get by or whether it’s something a little bit more luxurious, Mel enjoys adopting the financial planning approach before getting down to the nuts and bolts of financial advice.

As well as the practical issues, Mel has a significant technical capability especially in the area of retirement planning, whether it be building up, transferring or drawing down money for later life – from the tax efficiency of different investments such as pension schemes to the certainty provided by annuities in retirement and long term care.

He likes to tell it how it is rather than skirt the issue and this is evident in his regular contributions to the Radcliffe & Newlands blog.  Mel can also be followed on Twitter (by clicking this link you are departing the regulated site of Radcliffe & Newlands. Neither Radcliffe & Newlands nor TenetConnect are responsible for the accuracy of the information contained within the non-regulated site.)

Out of the office, Mel enjoys keeping fit and attending major sporting events.
